ABOUT THE TEACHER
GEOFF GUNDERSON began playing guitar when he was 10 years old and began playing professionally at age 14. During and after high-school he toured with Wakefield, an 80′s rock band. He began the study of classical guitar in high school and eventually studied with Christopher Johnson at USD, where he graduated in 1989. Geoff began teaching guitar in high school. In 1995 Geoff underwent Suzuki training at the South Carolina Suzuki Institute in Spartanburg, SC to specialize in teaching young children. In 2009 Mr. Gunderson traveled to Austin, TX for training and licensing in the Childbloom Guitar Program with Kevin Taylor, founder of the program. Mr. Taylor says, “Geoff Gunderson’s knowledge base and demeanor make him a perfect teacher for young children. He is the type of person I would want teaching my child.” Geoff currently teaches classical and contemporary guitar at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD and Dordt College in Sioux Center, IA and is the director of the Chilbloom Guitar Program of Sioux Falls.
Geoff also performs with the Juke Box Zeroes and frequently performs as a solo guitarist in Sioux Falls venues. Geoff has performed with the South Dakota Symphony, the Sioux City Symphony, the Sioux City Rockestra, and countless other projects. A lifelong resident of Sioux Falls, Mr. Gunderson lives with his wife Erin and has two grown daughters.
THE CHILDBLOOM GUITAR PROGRAM
The Childbloom Guitar program is a comprehensive musical education program for children age 5 and up. It was developed in 1980 by Kevin Taylor, of Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. The Childbloom Guitar Method is currently being used by educators throughout the nation and is the largest program of its kind in the United States.

PRIVATE LESSONS
Private lessons for adults, college, and high school students are available during weekday morning hours. Private lessons will cover proper right hand and left hand technique, music theory and reading, and repertoire. Virtually any style of guitar can be studied, from classical and fingerstyle to rock and jazz.
